I woke up around 3 a.m. with a migraine so I am taking today off to recover.
Migraines wipe me out. First, they hurt like hell. Second, when the pain goes away I am just exhausted and sleep for several hours. Also, if I'm not careful I can restart the headache and suffer all over again.
I've had migraines since I was a teenager. And while I am still unsure why I get migraines, I have learned that I need to take it easy as I recover from one. It's weird but exertion often brings the headache back. So I'm taking it easy today and skipping my strength training session. I'll be back running tomorrow.
Oh yes! I pick up my race packet today! Woo-hoo! My first race packet! I am so excited!
